Construction begins on ZIMA residential project
Roomeo in Vienna finalized

ZIMA kicks off implementation with strong advance sales and STRABAG as general contractor

Vienna, December 17, 2025: The building permit has been granted for the Roomeo residential project in Vienna-Donaustadt (22nd district). ZIMA is implementing the residential construction project, which has a total volume of around €70 million, together with STRABAG as the general contractor. With one-third of the apartments sold, another important milestone has been reached, ensuring that the project will be completed on schedule.

The Roomeo construction project will create 156 new residential units in Donaustadt. Since the official sales launch in the summer of this year, 56 units have already been sold – a clear indication that ZIMA is creating attractive living space for the residents of Donaustadt with this project. With STRABAG as a strong project partner, which is responsible for the construction of the project as general contractor, the basis for a speedy construction process has been laid.

Now that the building permit has been granted and sales are on track, construction can begin as planned in January 2026. ZIMA and STRABAG are committed to a long-term, reliable partnership based on high-quality execution and on-time delivery.

“The building permit that has been granted and the extremely positive preliminary sales results are two key indicators of success for Roomeo. This shows us that we have made exactly the right choice in terms of location, product, and partners,” explains Thomas Thaler, Site Manager at ZIMA Vienna. "We are proud that, together with STRABAG, we are creating a residential project that will stand the test of time, create value, and make a lasting contribution to the Vienna housing market."

"Roomeo is a modern residential project in Donaustadt that focuses on high construction quality and sustainable standards. As the general contractor, we ensure efficient and technically optimized implementation—from planning to completion. Our shared goal with ZIMA is to create living space that offers people long-term comfort and quality of life," emphasizes Markus Engerth, member of the Executive Board of STRABAG AG Austria.
